Healthcare – Centre for Research in Pure and Applied Sciences
Research Cluster Overview
Research Cluster: Life-Centricity, Health, and Wellbeing
Topic: Healthcare
Theme: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
Overview: Life-Centricity, Health, and Wellbeing research cluster interest lies in the development of advanced drug delivery systems and tissue engineering strategies to revolutionize therapeutic approaches and regenerative medicine. This particularly focuses on nanoparticle-based drug delivery platforms that offer targeted, controlled release of therapeutics, enhancing efficacy while minimizing side effects. By integrating principles of materials science, nanotechnology, and bioengineering, this cluster aims to address critical challenges in delivering precise, effective treatments for diseases such as cancer and in developing innovative solutions for tissue repair and regeneration, ultimately improving patient outcomes and advancing the field of biomedical engineering.
Expected Outcomes
- Nanoparticles can be engineered to deliver drugs directly to diseased cells, minimizing side effects and improving treatment efficacy.
- Nanomaterials can be used to create scaffolds for tissue regeneration, aiding in the repair of damaged tissues or organs.
Current Projects
- Biomimetic Nanotheranostics: A Novel Weapon Towards Chronic Myeloid Leukemia Management (ongoing), DST-SERB, 2021-2024
